The 14th-16th of May was public holiday (King's Birthday) in Cambodia and all institutions were closed. At that time COMPED organized a three days trip to Shihanouk Ville under supported by TKG. COMPED-TKG usually takes annual godchildren’s trip to different places in Cambodia, it aims to provide opportunity to all of the godchildren to learn about their country, gain experiences, share their idea, relax from their studies and learn about their social skills in the team. During this trip, the children can get to know other persons who come from various places where the project is operated. On the bus heading to Sihanouk Ville all of the godchildren appreciated the fresh green view along the street, enjoyed talking to each others, Sing the songs, play some games and talking funny stories. During this time the children had the chance to get to know each other from different provinces and to present their self to the team as well as improving their socialization and communication. Along the way to Shihanouk Ville we stopped at an oil palm plantation for lunch, because we want the children to know the oil palm plant and the environment around there. All of the children had lunch together and they shared their food to each other. This something we want them to know and learn: sharing as a traditional way for daily life and social living in a community. This is how they understand in the future to share and help each other. The first day in the afternoon we visited several beaches near by the city. All Children enjoyed sightseeing at the seaside, jumped on the rocks with small waves around them, we took photos all together in group and ate some snacks together and told each other about the interest feeling, life, as well as studying result. Most of children were really getting exciting with the trip to Sinhanouk Ville, because this is their first time at the seaside that they never visit before. The second day of the trip we enjoyed the full day at O Tres Beach. O Tres is one of the most beautiful beaches in Shihanouk Ville so that all tourists like to visit and relax over there. In the morning all children came together in groups and played football, enjoyed walking along the beach, swimming and some found small shells along the sea. Every child exposed his feeling with a smiling face on their holiday at the beach. After lunch all children played many games and were swimming and dancing the whole afternoon. In the evening after dinner we came all together to play some games, do some questions and answers about general knowledge and talked about funny stories. The godchildren’s trip has been smoothly ended with smiling and a lot of memorials. It was a very nice time because it has provided a good opportunity to the children to learn about the society, share experience, get understanding from people around them , discover Cambodia as well as release their tress and worries. The Children felt free from school and other workload. How can the children learn? Basically, when they come from one place to another one with many different people, they will be able to communicate, observe on how the life in other area goes. It means that they learn through the communicating, seeing and observing. Throughout talking to each other during the trip the children actually can tell someone about their lives, interest, and value, believe, and sorrow. Furthermore, they are able to know about this resort about which they have learnt a lot from school. Group photo of children at the Sokha Beach on the first day of the trip Children play with the game at O Tres Beach on the second day (Holding the spoon with one egg) Good view of O Tres Beach and activities of the children for their trip Some children they were happy with playing sport on the beach Acitivities of the children welcome and talking with Ms.Carmen Schenderlein from TKG, Germany
